Frank Abernathy Obituary

GASTONIA - Frank Junior Abernathy, 82, passed away peacefully at his home Sunday, December 20, 2020 with his children surrounding him. He was the son of the late Franklin M. and Myrtle McAllister Abernathy, husband to the late Linda Wellman Abernathy and father to the late Lisa Richards. He also is predeceased by numerous brothers and sisters.

Frank was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed gardening, working on lawn mowers, working numerous jobs and helping others. Frank loved his family dearly and will be deeply missed.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories a loving son, Richard Abernathy; loving daughter, Debbie Abernathy, both of the home; brother, Wayne Abernathy; sisters, Pansy Jonas, Martha Owenby; grandchildren, Amber Wilson, Chris Richards, Noah Abernathy and Kristen Abernathy.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at 1:00pm Monday, December 28, 2020 at Alexander Memorial Baptist Church with a
Celebration of Life Service following at 2:00pm with Reverend Jerry Pennington officiating.

Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.
