Michael Rimmer Obituary

GAFFNEY, S.C. - Michael Eugene Rimmer, 49, of 432 Misty Lane Gaffney, S.C., passed away April 11, 2010, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center in Spartanburg, S.C.

He was born April 19, 1960, in Gaston County, son of the late Audrey Millwood Rimmer.

Michael was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Gastonia. He was a graduate of North Gaston High School Class of 1978. He had a big heart and will be loved and missed by anyone who knew him, especially his nieces and nephews who he was very close to.

He was a huge fan of the Indianapolis Colts and Carolina Tarheels, loved to play softball, loved music and loved to sing.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at Grace Baptist Church, Gastonia, officiated by Rev. Joseph Hensley.

A visitation will be held 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, Gastonia.

Interment will be at Armstrong Cemetery, Gastonia.

He is survived by: father and stepmother, Boyce and Pauline Rimmer of Gaffney, S.C.; daughter, Kristina Rimmer of Clover,SC; brother, Mark Rimmer of Gastonia; sisters, Patsy Lewis of Gastonia, Paula Higdon of Gastonia; numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by: sister Penny Badger and his grandparents.

Arrangements are with Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, Gastonia.

patsy, paula,mark and boyce and the rest of the rimmer family, my family is so very sorry for all of yalls brother and son passin away but hes in a very good place.we growed up with you all and were the best times ever and never forgotten!as kids life has no worries but as years has gone by we start to realize life is very short and precious! god bless you all and he is helping to heal your sadness!rest in peace high on the mountain mike! sheila,pam,vickie and raymond bumgardner

My dad was loved by so many people and he will be missed so very much!!! He was a great father to me and a great friend as well!! I can remember us going to Pizza Inn on Franklin when I was a little girl and I would always play the arcade game while my dad ate his Jalapeno pizza which he would always complain about later...I will always love you daddy and I will meet at those pearly gates someday!!

I feel that I was honored by GOD just to have known Mike, but he was more than just a friend to me, he was like a brother.
