Dear Deborah and Daniel,
I was so sorry to hear of Ashley's passing. She was a student of mine in two English classes at UMN, and I enjoyed very much her way of bringing light to us. I regret not being able to come to her service and to share with you how much I enjoyed her presence. I am moving out of state for a job, and have recently found a final portfolio of Ashley's; it is very characteristic of her--bright and thoughtful and curious. I would like to send it to you, if you would like it. You can reach me by using my U email address: weave049 (at) umn.edu.

To the Goetz Family~ my heartfelt sympathy to you all in this time of need.
It was such an blessing to have gotten to know Miss Ashley. She always kept my creative side thinking and pushing, and searching for the next adventure. She never lost touch with her endless supply of smiles, you couldn't help but smile back. I feel her post speaks to how she was on so many levels… “Be content with what you have; rejoice in the way things are. When you realize nothing is lacking, the whole world belongs to you.” -Lao Tzu
Ash, you really knew how to strive for the goodness… in people. in places. in nature. in creatures. I most admired that about you, and will never forget such a bright soul. You are forever missed and in our hearts, I know you are looking down on us now. In your words: It feels amazing to defeat your demons, whether they are people, addictions, insecurities, debt, etc. Drop what ails you and live. Cheers! If I live up to half of who you were and what you accomplished, I will be satisfied :)

Ash, I am so glad for the time my boys got to spend with their amazing aunt. You are a guardian angel now to watch over them. Not a day will go by that some little thing won't remind us all of the fullness of life, which you so embodied. Miss you and love you forever. -Mandy, Chris, Ethan & Avery

Forever in my heart until we meet again. I send a Mothers Day hug, a birthday wish, and a hope that you feel the wind in your hair riding the bike highway in heaven with angel wings on your back. You will always be my Easter bunny baby chasing rainbows. Love you forever. Mom
