Easthampton , MA - Carole R. (Guimond) Merrill, 83, of Easthampton passed away on Wednesday July 16, 2025 at the Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton. She was born in Ware, MA on November 6, 1941. Carole was the daughter of the late Roland P. and Eleanor D. (Couture) Guimond. She graduated in 1960 from Pompano Beach High School in Florida. She moved to the area in 1963 and was a Hadley resident for nearly 30 years before settling in Easthampton. Carole was employed as a Payroll Clerk for the Baystate Medical Center in Springfield for many years. She and her first husband, Roy, owned and operated Merrill's Discount Carpeting Company with locations in Hadley and Chicopee. She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Valley Parish in Easthampton and a former devote of the Most Holy Redeemer Church in Hadley. Her first husband Roy Merrill died in 2007. Carole leaves her beloved husband Robert Lacey of Easthampton, her loving brother Paul M. Guimond and his wife Christine, her loving sister Cindy M. Lowell and her husband James, five cherished step-children, and many nieces and nephews. Calling hour will be held on Friday, July 25th, 10 to 11:00 am at Our Lady of the Valley Parish, 33 Adams Street, Easthampton, MA, with a Funeral mass to follow at 11AM. Burial will be private. The O'Brien Funeral Home, 17 Clark Street, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
