Edward Cavallari Obituary

EDWARD F. CAVALLARI

Plainville, MA - Edward F. Cavallari, 97, of Northampton, Easthampton and Plainville, MA, passed away on December 30, 2022, at Pond Home in Wrentham, MA. He was a resident of Pond Home for the past three years.

He was born in Northampton, MA, on April 6, 1925, the son of the late Louis and Louise Cavallari. Ed graduated from Northampton High School and joined the army to fight in WWII. He was in the Army Corps of Engineers and was attached to 9 th Army Headquarters. Ed participated in the liberation of France, Belgium, Holland, and the occupation of Germany. He was decorated with the Bronze Star for meritorious service. He was honorably discharged after achieving the rank of Tech Sergeant.

He graduated from drafting school but decided to join the family business, Serio's Market, in 1950, where he worked for 50 years.

He loved traveling with his wife, Josie, and family. He also liked vacationing on Cape Cod, fishing, crabbing, boating, and gardening. Ed enjoyed learning about the history and culture of local Native American tribes. Ed was a gifted artist who loved to draw, carve, and paint.

He leaves behind his devoted son, Edward A., daughter-in-law, Suzanne and his grand-daughter, Rebecca, all of Plainville, MA. He also leaves his loving younger sister, Katherine Day of Northampton, son-in-law, Gary Golec and fiancée Sophie, of Easthampton and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He is pre-deceased by his parents, beloved wife of 69 years, Josephine, his cherished daughter, Christina, and his dear sister, Irene.

Calling hours are at Czelusniak Funeral Home, 173 North St. Northampton, MA, (413) 584-3585, on Thursday, January 5, 2023 from 3 PM to 6 PM.

A funeral Mass will be held at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 99 King St., Northampton, MA, at 10 a.m. AM Friday, January 6, 2023 with no prior calling hours Friday morning.
