Francis Loftus

BELCHERTOWN – Francis P. Loftus, 87, passed away May 23, 2018 at Center for Extended Care in Amherst. Born May 17, 1931 in Belchertown, he was the son of Francis (Pat) and Emma (Stadler) Loftus. Francis has been a lifelong resident of Belchertown and proudly served his country in the US Navy Reserves. Francis was a communicant of St. Francis Church and a lifetime member of the Belchertown Lions Club, where he received a Melvin Jones award. He was also a life member of the Mill Valley Snowmobile Club. In 2013, he was predeceased by his wife, Bertha (Wilder). Francis will be dearly missed by his five children, Dr. Sheree Loftus-Fader and husband Dr. Andrew Fader of Plesantville NY, Kathleen Kimball and husband Richard, Laurie Ritter and husband Harry, Michael Loftus and wife Cynthia, and Patrick Loftus all of Belchertown. He also leaves his 4 grandchildren, Ryan Ritter, Peter Loftus, Catherine Loftus, Corey Fader and brother, Norman Loftus also of Belchertown. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 29th from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home with a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis Church. Burial will be private.
