Raymond Champagne Obituary
Southampton, MA - Raymond A Champagne, 80, went Home to the Lord on July 13, 2024. He passed peacefully at home, surrounded by his family. Ray was born in Holyoke on March 10, 1945, to the late Lucien Champagne and Corrine (Rock) Champagne of Southampton. He was a lifetime resident of Southampton.
Ray was a graduate of Westfield Trade School and he served in the U.S. Army National Guard. He was the first in the Champagne family to earn his college degree. Ray was ambitious, with a great head for business. He retired from Kanzaki Specialty Papers and then started his own septic business in 1999. Ray had a special way of connecting with all types people. He would make friends anywhere he went. He was known for his generosity and integrity. He was a great man and will be terribly missed by all who knew him. To know him was to love him.
Ray leaves his beloved wife of 25 years, Jolanta (Rab) Champagne, his daughter Lisa Gordon and her spouse Jose Merced of Agawam, daughter Michelle Eldridge of Southampton, grandchildren Ryan, Lindsay, Leah, Willow, Lucas and Ivy. Ray also leaves his brothers, Paul Champagne Sr., and Phillip Champagne.
Ray was the salt of the earth. He had a passion for woodworking and welding, displaying his tank creatures thoughtfully throughout his beautifully manicured, whimsical yard and gardens. He also loved his vintage Indian motorcycle. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Ray will held on Tuesday, August 5th at 10am at the Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Parish, 127 Holyoke Road, Westfield, MA. Followed by Burial at Saint Mary's Cemetery, Rt. 10, Westfield, MA. 01085
