Alvin Haeberlin Obituary

Watertown, WI - Alvin W. "Al" Haeberlin, Jr., age 90, passed away at Spero Heritage Home in Watertown on Friday, August 8, 2025. He was born on June 29, 1935, in Louisville, KY, the son of Alvin W. and Mabel C. (Cannon) Haeberlin. Al served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. On February 9, 1957, he married JoAnn Ruby Rabiola.

Al retired from Gilman Engineering after over 30 years, in 2000. He was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church where he was active volunteering as a CCD teacher. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, hunting, camping, fishing, and gardening. He was proudest of his greatest achievement, having 5 great kids and 68 years of happy marriage with his loving wife.

Al is survived by his wife, JoAnn; children: Jeff (Carol) Haeberlin, Joel (Julie) Haeberlin, Jody (Kerry) Davis, John (Su) Haeberlin, and Jill (Jeff) Housker; 14 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and sisters: Marie (Eldon) Edlund, Lucille (Tom) Cannon, and Elizabeth Jany. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Dick, Leo, and Jim.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Vianney Catholic Church on Friday, September 19, 2025. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME on Thursday, September 18, 2025, and on Friday at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
