Christine Clement Obituary

Christine Coye Clement

March 19, 1952 - December 28, 2020

In the early morning hours of December 28, 2020, Chris's battle with cancer ended with her loving husband of 47 years and her faithful four legged companion, Jackson, by her side.

Chris and her two brothers, Robert (Hack) and Bryan, grew up on a ranch near Norwood, Colorado with their parents, R. Tillmon and Frances I. Reed. She attended Norwood schools and was very active in extracurricular activities including band and student council.

She met Royce Clement in September 1972 during the annual Norwood Pioneer Days celebration. She and Royce married March 3, 1973, at the Methodist Church in Norwood. They had two sons, R. Weston and Keenon K. Clement. They adopted their granddaughter, Meaghan Clement, in April 2017.

In Chris's personal life she had many interests and hobbies. She was most passionate about supporting her sons and granddaughter in their activities and hobbies. She was undoubtedly their biggest fan. She was often times the team mom and the team chauffeur. She was easily the best trapper and skinner of the family. She was an amazing seamstress and her love of cross-stitch was immense. There are many of us who will be forever grateful for the amazing pieces of art she made for us. She was an avid athlete and loved most sports. She bowled in leagues, played fast pitch softball, and played golf among other things. She was the biggest college basketball fan of the bunch, and if you know us, that's saying something.

Chris was an incredibly giving person. She was instrumental in the family taking in a foster son (Billy Mosey) and hosted a foreign exchange student (Janis Zeibots) for a year. There were at least 12 other people outside of the immediate family who found shelter and a warm embrace for an extended period of time in her home throughout the years. She had a ton of love to give, and would welcome any opportunity to help someone through a rough patch.

In Chris's professional life she started and ended her career as a stay at home mom. She stayed home to raise her two young sons early in her life. She then studied to become an EMT. She loved helping people as an EMT but an opportunity to go into real estate came and she embraced it. Again, this is something she really enjoyed because she was helping people. She became a very successful realtor with a loyal client base that appreciated her honesty and her grit. In 2012 she retired to become a stay at home mom for Meaghan.

Chris was preceded in death by her parents and son, Weston. She is survived by her husband; son, Keenon (Zephra); daughter, Meaghan; brothers, Robert (Tina) and Bryan (Cindy), and five grandchildren.

Family will gather for a celebration of her life later this year. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to an organization searching for a cure to cancer. The disease is brutal and at this time so is the treatment.

I was shocked and saddened by seeing this on the legacy website. I just wanted to tell the family that I adored Chris. She was a wonderful friend, great and conscientious realtor and just a beautiful person. My sympathies and prayers go out to all her family!

Chris was a mentor to me & other girls when she coached our JR high basketball team. Taught us to have a voice and that it was ok to speak & stand for what we believed in. Lost contact years ago but she was an influence throughout my life. She was a fine woman who lifted others up. Giant hugs and lots of love to Royce & family.
