Jack Keithley Obituary

Jack Milton Keithley February 18, 1930 - March 1, 2007 Jack Keithley, long time Grand Junction resident, passed away March 1, 2007 at his home after a long illness, he was 77. He was born February 18, 1930 in Pueblo, Colorado from the union of Theodore "Tim" and Margaret Pinkard Keithley. The family moved to Silt, Colorado where Jack spent his childhood and later to Grand Junction around 1943 where he lived for 64 years. Jack enter into military service with the United States Army in 1951 and served in Germany until his honorable discharge. In 1964, Jack married Marie Clark in Grand Junction, she survives. Raising two sons and two daughters, he was a father, farmer, collector and friend to everyone he met. He enjoyed time with family, hunting in Western Colorado, driving and observing the scenery of the South-West. Jack's easy-going nature as well as his hobby of collecting antique farm equipment, earned him the respect of everyone he met and made him many friends throughout his collecting experiences. Jack loved his family dearly and was loved dearly by his family. Survivors include his wife Marie Keithley of Grand Junction; two sons; Curtis Keithley of Brighton, CO and Tim Keithley of Denver, CO. two daughters; Dorrie Allen of Portland, OR and Tina Goodenough from the state of Florida. Other survivors include a brother; Theodore "Ted" Keithley of Grand Junction, CO and four sisters; Nadine Maglietti of Cle Elum, WA and Francis Baughman, Carol White and Theresa Mathews all of Grand Junction, CO., four grandchildren; Tim and Tony Allen of Portland, OR, and Jake and Nicholas Keithley of Brighton, CO. Jack was preceded in death by his brother William "Bill" Keithley and a sister Betty Brown. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 3, 2007 at Martin Mortuary. A visitation time will be held from 6-8 p.m., Friday, March 2, 2007 at Martin Mortuary. Services will conclude at 10:00 a.m., March 5, 2007 at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado where military honors will be performed and enrichment will take place. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Western Colorado, P.O. Box 60307, Grand Junction, CO 81506. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Martin Mortuary, a Dignity Memorial provider.

After meeting Jack for the first time, I have always thought of him as the kindest Keithley that I have ever met. He was a gentle and caring man.
