Joanne Ricketts Obituary

Joanne Redd Ricketts CHATHAM, Va. Joanne Redd Ricketts, 54, of 2260 Spring Garden Rd., Chatham, Va., went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at her home after losing her battle with cancer. She was born on September 24, 1959, in Chatham, Va., the daughter of the late Elbert Allison Redd and the late Elsie Bolte Redd. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Allie William (Pete) Ricketts; her daughter, Samantha Ricketts Hyler and her husband, Chris; a son, Daniel Allen Ricketts; two granddaughters, Kaylee Joanne Hyler and Abigail Rae Hyler; four sisters, Mavis Davis, Cynthia McDaniel, Lucy Lane, and Mary Sue Daniel; and two brothers, Elbert Dean Redd and Michael Lewis Redd. Joanne will forever be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Graveside services will be conducted at St. Paul's Episcopal Church Cemetery at 7 p.m. Friday May 2, 2014, with the Rev. Cleon Ross, Rector of St. Paul's officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service and at other times will be at the residence. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Danville Cancer Association, 2323 Riverside Dr., Danville, VA 24540.
