Ralph Roland Gardner EDEN, NC - Ralph Roland Gardner, 77, of 125 Farrell Street, in Eden, passed away early Friday morning, September 20, 2013, at his home. A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Sunday, September 22, 2013, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. A Rockingham County native, Mr. Gardner was born February 24, 1936. He was the son of the late John and Ethel Reese Gardner. Mr. Gardner was a retiree of Vanier Graphics. He is survived by his wife, Judy Harrison Gardner of the home; three daughters, Gerri Haraway of Eden, Beverly Dawn Williams of Dry Fork, Va., and Judy Perkins and husband, James of Eden; two sons, Michael Dale Gardner and Anthony Gardner, both of Eden; nine grandchildren, Cathy Gardner, Summer Weiss, T. C. Gardner, Jessica Haraway, Christina Williams, Angela Williams, Kayla Gardner, Andy Gardner, and Matthew Perkins; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, John "Bill" Gardner and wife, Alma, William Frank Gardner and wife, Joretta, Allen Ray Gardner and wife, Nancy, David Lee Gardner and wife, Arlene, and Roger Dwayne Gardner and wife, Helen; and two sisters, Brenda G. Taylor and Carol G. Allen. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Frances Charlene Bond and Nancy Jean Gentry. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Sunday, from 3 until 4 p.m., at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the home of his daughter, Gerri at 248 Weaver Street in Eden.
