Robert Woodall Jr. Robert Minter Woodall Jr. of 220 Hawthorne Drive, Danville, VA went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at Duke Medical Center after being in declining health for the past year. Robert was born in Danville, VA on March 27, 1948 a son of Robert Minter Woodall Sr. and the late Dorothy Hylton Woodall. He had lived all of his life in Danville where he was a graduate of George Washington High School. Robert had worked for the former Dan River Mills, Inc. and Goodyear Tire & Rubber prior to purchasing the former Tamson Chevrolet which is now Woodall Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick, GMC. He also owned the Nissan and Hyundai Dealerships of Danville. Robert was the longest serving member of the Virginia Automobile Dealer Association where he was Past President in 2001. He had served two terms on the Virginia Motor Vehicle Dealer Board and he served as President of the Automobile Advertising Group for multiple dealerships. He was selected as Virginia's 2005 Time magazine Quality Dealer Award. Robert was an honorary member of the Danville Life Saving Crew. Robert attended Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church and he had formerly attended Fairview United Methodist Church from his early childhood. Robert is survived by three sons Robert M. Woodall III (Christy) of Danville, VA, Patrick E. Woodall (Jennifer), Michael W. Woodall (Kelli) all of Florida, his father Robert Woodall Sr. of Danville, VA, three sisters Sandra Hamilton, Karen Ward (Tony) and Sharron Burke (Eddie), Grandchildren Conner Robert Woodall, Mallory Elizabeth Woodall, Jasper Edward Woodall and Baby Boy Woodall (Due February 2014), Nieces & Nephews Ashley Forbis, Ryan Burke and Tamara Kotronis and longtime girl friend Patsy Hall and her family, along with many, many friends and business associates. Robert was predeceased by his mother and a nephew Eben Ward. Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. from the Tabernacle by the Reverend Dr. R.J. Barber Jr. Interment will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens with a Celebration of Life to follow at 220 Hawthorne Drive, Danville, Va. The family will receive friends at the Tabernacle on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. and at other times they will be at the residence 220 Hawthorne Drive, Danville, VA 24541. In lieu of flowers the family suggest that memorial donations be made to the Danville Life Saving Crew, 202 Christopher Lane, Danville, VA 24541.
