My VW, Magi, may never make it out of the garage again. I will miss your efforts to making it run again, Bob. You were a source of history of Edwardsville and your many stories were delightful and entertaining. You were missed when you closed the service station and now you will be missed forever. To all your family, my deepest sympathy.

John,
I'm so sorry for your family's loss. Your dad was the first person in town that I met. I had pulled into the station for directions and was greeted by his big smile and help.

My condolences to all of Bob's family and friends. Bob was a great friend to my family and I. Bob was always willing help others and I would always tell him to relax your supposed to be retired! From family barbecues to eating dinner at Stagger it was always great to see Bob. He was tough as nails and great man to call my friend. I will miss him like many of us.

With Bob in the world, a broken-down car was never stressful, even when I was on shaky ground as a new mom with a fickle old Dodge Caravan. He made us smile, made us feel safe, and gave us hope in the goodness of humankind. He was the best kind of human, and I think of him often, with a smile in my heart.

Bob are sorely missed. If I may, I would like to share one of my favorite Bob moments. He would do anything to help someone out. I believe it was a snow storm on January 1st, 1999. My roommate, Cheryl, and I were snowed in a decided to walk into town for supplies. We stopped by the station and Bob not only supplied us with Dr. Pepper's but also gave us a ride of our lives back to our apartment. My dearest condolences to all. Love you!

John and Family,
Bob was a dear friend to us. He always had a kind word or a funny story to tell. There was hardly a time that we went to see him or have a vehicle worked on that he didn't take time to stop and talk with us. He had lots of Edwardsville history to tell, I don't know how he remembered all he shared. He will be missed. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

My sympathy and heartfelt condolences go out to the family of Robert McLean. My father was a faithful customer at the Conoco Station until his death in 1968. Bob was always friendly, and we liked him and his father very much. Bob and I went to school together. I sincerely feel your pain. Bob was a very loving and kind person who will be greatly missed.
