Francis (Petrick) Arries
1931-2022
Fran died on October 6, 2022 in Phoenix, AZ at the age of 91.
Fran was born July 12, 1931, in Hibbing, MN to Anthony and Emma Petrick. Fran graduated from Hibbing High School in 1949. She was an avid musician; accomplished on the keyboard, accordion; and a popular vocalist. She was very diverse in her style of music and was very adaptable to playing varied venues from fine dining music at restaurants to polkas at weddings. She often performed with John Berthold or Gloris Wivoda. Fran was a good dancer and especially enjoyed dancing with her husband Carnot.
In the fall you would find her in the woods hunting with family and friends. She was a good shot.
Fran is survived by her two sons, Michael Arries and Robert Arries, her sister Mary Ann (Petrick) Clafton, her brother Anthony (Butch) Petrick, two granddaughters, Melissa (Arries) Adams and Lindsay Arries, three grandsons, Justin Arries, Colton Arries, and Cade Arries, and seven great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Carnot Arries, preceded her in death in 1984.
A celebration of life is scheduled for August 3, 2024, from 1 until 4 at the Pengilly Community Center, South Circle Drive, Pengilly, MN.
