Donald Bueling Obituary

Donald Arvid Bueling, 76, of 3125 4th Ave. S., an electrician and Army veteran, died of natural causes Wednesday at his home.
Visitation is 1 to 5 p.m. today at Schnider Funeral Home. His funeral is 10 a.m. Monday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Bueling of Great Falls; daughters Susan Bueling of Great Falls; Dr. Lori Ballinger, DVM, of Roseville, Minn.; sons Daniel (Daniel Siebert) Bueling of San Jose, Calif., and Scott (Deb) Bueling of Land O'Lakes, Fla.; a daughter-in-law, Anita Bueling of Great Falls; a brother, Gordon Bueling of Yakima, Wash., 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Donald was born Sept. 19, 1931, in Great Falls to Clara (Lyon) and Earl Arvid Bueling. He was raised and educated in Great Falls, graduating from Great Falls High School in 1949.
He served in the Signal Corps of the U.S. Army from February 1951 to February 1954 during the Korean War.
He married Patricia Kay Stephens in 1952 in Great Falls.
Donald farmed at Virgille from 1954 to 1960, and was a power lineman and electrician in Great Falls and Montana for 39 years, before retiring in 1993.
He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church for 47 years, serving as a church council member and Kogudus Retreat Ministry leader. He was active as a Boy Scout Leader, was a member of the IBEW Union, the VFW and PFLAG (Parents, Friends and Family of Lesbians and Gays).
In his retirement, Donald was a stained-glass artist who showed his work from Portland, Ore., to St. Paul, Minn. He enjoyed feeding the neighborhood birds and squirrels.
He was preceded in death by a son, David Donald Bueling and grandsons Mizpah and Jacob Ballinger.
