Lansing Hrabe Obituary
His funeral is 10 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, with burial in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery in Pukwana, S.D., at 11 a.m. Saturday. Schnider Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Hrabe of Great Falls; a daughter, Kimberly (Roger) Linn of Great Falls; sons James Hrabe of Lewis-town and Curtis Hrabe of Florida; his mother, Marion Hrabe of Pukwana; a sister, Charlie Houdek of Rapid City; a brother, Dyrk Hrabe of Chamberlain, S.D.; and five grandchildren.
Lansing was born in Spokane on Nov. 4, 1942, and raised in Pukwana. He married Nancy Lantz in Pukwana in 1963. He served three years in the U.S. Army in Korea, and then served for 34 years with the Federal Civilian Service. He then owned and operated Lanny's Roof-ing for 15 years.
He was a member of the House Committee, VFW Post 1087, where he often volunteered, and was a member of the Elk's Club.
He loved fishing, was a sports card collector and enjoyed Nascar.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Hrabe.

Nancy, Kay and family,
My sympathy and prayers to you all. Lanny was a very good boss and an excellent Civilian Personnel Officer who cared for the people of Malmstrom AFB. I know he touched many lives and worked very hard in his quiet way. It is hard to find someone as dedicated and loyal to others.
