Juils Jorgensen Obituary

Juils Delynn Jorgensen Jr., age 90, went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 23, 2021. He passed at his home in Greeley with family holding him in their hearts. He was born in Fall River, Kansas to Juils and Jennie Jorgensen on December 3, 1930, the oldest of four children. Juils graduated from Canon City High School in 1950. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served four years during the Korean War. He was assigned to the USS Greenwood EE679, a Destroyer Escort. He married Dixie Clark on May 18, 1952, in Canon City, Colorado. After four years in the US Navy, they moved to Pueblo, Colorado and he worked at the steel mill. Shortly after, he decided to pursue his education and enrolled at Pueblo Junior College where he played football. Juils transferred to Colorado State College, now University of Northern Colorado and graduated in 1958. In the fall of 1958, he was hired to teach Industrial Arts and coach football at Heath Junior High in Greeley, Colorado. In the fall of 1970, he was hired to teach and be an assistant coach for football and baseball at Greeley West High School. He taught numerous subjects at Greeley West before retiring in 1988. He was on the youth baseball board that brought Little League Baseball to Greeley in 1969. He was a member of the Greeley Elks and a member on the board of Friends of Baseball. He was inducted to the Greeley West Hall of Fame in 2008, an honor he was very proud of. In 2011, he was selected to go on the Honor Flight, which is a trip for America's veterans to Washington, D.C. to visit the memorials dedicated to honoring those who have served and sacrificed for our country. Juils will be remembered for his passion for teaching and coaching. He was hard working and often took additional jobs on top of his teaching and coaching duties. He had a smile that would make everyone smile right back at him and his gentle and caring way touched so many students and athletes during his 30 years in education in Greeley School District 6. He was adored by his students and athletes with many of them coming to him years after graduating and thanking him for all he had done for them. He enjoyed fishing and camping. He loved watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren play sports. Juils was involved in Friends of Baseball and could be seen at most Gojo's baseball games in the summer. He was a strong supporter of Gojo's baseball and was always trying to make sure that anyone that wanted to play for Gojo's should have the opportunity to do so even if they were not financially able. He asked to have any donations that were received through his passing go to Gojo's to help with players fees. Juils is preceded in death by his parents, Juils and Jennie Jorgensen, his parent in-laws, James Robert and Audrey Clark, a sister Sharon Jorgensen, a brother, Donald Jorgensen, and brother in-laws Bill Walker and Sonny Osborn. He is survived by his wife and best friend Dixie, brother Virgil (Carol), children Jim (Fara) and Jana Tellez, grandchildren Drew and Dane Jorgensen, Peyton and Cassie Tellez, great-grandchildren Bradley Jorgensen, Kyle Jorgensen, and Colton Jorgensen as well as numerous special nieces and nephews. A special thank you goes to Bristol Hospice for their loving care of Juils and Dixie. A Life Celebration will be held at 11:00 a.m. December 4, 2021 at Generations Church, 3600 W 22nd St., Greeley, CO, 80634. Reception follows at Generations Church. Memorial gifts may be made to "Gojos Baseball Club LLC" in care of Adamson, 2000 47th Ave., Greeley, CO 80634. Friends may leave condolences at AdamsonCares.com.

Your soul was kind, I will always remember watching baseball with you to get away from the "adults." You we´re comfortable with everything, including silence, and I always appreciated how present you were in the moment. I came to visit you and aunt Dixie several years ago, and I´ll never forget the words you spoke to me in a time where I was hanging by a thread. RIP to an amazing soul, you will be loved and missed dearly.

We'll miss you very much, Uncle Delynn! I had some interesting visits and conversations with you over the years. Always likeable, fun, respectful, and a gentle soul. A real sports buff and awesome artist. As a kid we saw a number of films together at the movie theater --- and don't think we ever saw one he was not partial to! He enjoyed them all!

Rest well and vaya con Dios, my uncle.
