Christopher Jensen Obituary

Christopher Jensen

De Pere - Christopher J. Jensen of De Pere and Jacksonville, Florida, died in his sleep Monday, August 2, 2021. He was born November 28th to Joseph and Joan (Kerbs) Jensen, somewhere between 50 and 60 years ago. Raised in a small town, Christopher's large personality was not a good fit, and he quickly moved to Madison, eventually settling in Green Bay where he began working as a hair designer. He worked his way up in talent and prestige at local salons, before founding Freshair Salon. His clients became his family, and their appointments became therapy sessions, free event planning services or decorating tips, and at times, advice delivered in a way only he could get away with. Many women in the local area are wishing he had shared the secret of their color formula. Christopher made the world a more beautiful place in so many ways. He was a talented designer, a giver of the most thoughtful and extraordinary gifts, a fluffer of the perfect bow, creator of the most delicious Christmas toffee and a champion shopping companion. He had a love for travel experiencing many concerts and plays throughout the United States, visiting Europe with his mother, England with his nephew, touring Greece, Thailand, Egypt, sharing his condo in Puerta Vallarta, and most recently Italy with his dear friends. After a little disco power nap, he was up for adventure.

In 2008, he was blessed when his one and only favorite nephew Nicholas moved to Green Bay from Texas. Christopher was looking forward to Cole's wedding in September, welcoming Alyssa Hornick to the family. He is also survived by a brother, Timothy (Kathy) and their children. He was a loyal and generous friend who will be missed by close friends, Michele (Paul) Kumbaleck, Peggy (Terry) George, Jeane (Chad) Smits; his Freshair family, Doriam Bolanos, Celena Fordham, Kristine Auguston and Julie Rhein; the fervent fans of Lorinda Kelly and his Florida family.

He was preceded in death by his mother in December of 2020, his sister and brother-in-law, Sandy and Eric Yerina; and his longtime client Joan (Roy) Smits (who was the only person who could get away with calling him Chris).

A Memorial Service will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, August 12 at Proko-Wall Funeral Home with Fr. Jim Seamus Neilson O. Praem officiating. A Reception will follow at the funeral home from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. To send online condolences visit www.prokowall.com.

Anyone who knew Christopher or was fortunate enough to call him a friend, is totally devastated by his passing. I have been a client and friend of Christopher for over 30+ years. I looked forward to seeing him monthly for a haircut, but more importantly for his friendship. God Bless you Christopher, I will miss you and you will always be in my heart. RIP, my friend...until we meet again..
