Eugenia "Jean" Hunsader

Sturgeon Bay - Eugenia "Jean" Hunsader, 80, Sturgeon Bay, died peacefully on Monday evening July 16, 2018, at her daughter's home, with her family by her side following a battle with Lymphoma cancer. Jean was born in Rosiere to the late Edward and Helen (Willems) Bellin on November 23, 1937. She graduated from Casco High School with the class of 1956, where she met Ken, the love of her life. They were married on August 10, 1957, at St. Hubert's Catholic Church in Rosaire. Ken preceded her in death on August 30, 2009. Jean and Ken were blessed with three wonderful children, of whom they were very proud.

Always a hard worker, having grown up on the family farm in Rosiere, Jean never sat still for long. She worked many years as a waitress at the Stratosphere Supper Club and Eve's. Later she worked in furniture sales at Younker's in Sturgeon Bay. Jean was deeply devoted to her Catholic faith and raised her family by example. She was a past member of SS Peter & Paul Parish where she lent her time and talents to the church picnic, the bingo program and was instrumental in starting the first Thanksgiving dinner to those less fortunate. The Thanksgiving dinner continues to this day and is held at Lambeau Field. She enjoyed spending time at the family cottage on the bay, a good game of Rummikub, gardening and volunteering. Jean was always up for a game of cards, especially with her friends at her winter home in Arizona. She and Ken enjoyed traveling and have been to many countries across the world.

Jean will be deeply missed by her family. She is survived by three children: Rebecca (Tom) Jaklin, Sturgeon Bay; Kelly (Kelly) Hunsader, Luxemburg and Bryan (special friend, Julie Brockway) Hunsader, Allouez; five grandchildren: Desiree (Dan) Mondloch; Taylor (special friend, Lauren Rosin) Hunsader; Meghan (Brett) Metzler; Alyssa (Pete) Houghtaling and Eric Hunsader; one great grandson, Maxwell Metzler; Jean is further survived by two sisters, Cleo (Kermit) Franda and Adris (special friend, Jim Devroy) Bellin; two brothers, Dick (Terry) Bellin and Andy (Bernadette) Bellin; three brothers-in-law: Dick (Joan) Hunsader; David (Pat) Hunsader and Harvey Ropson, .

She was preceded in death by a brother, Alden (Agnes) Bellin; sister, Ida Ropson; father and mother-in-law, Edward and Ruth Hunsader; sister-in-law, Geri Bellin; brothers-in-law, Larry Holub and Mike Alberts; sister-in-law, Diane (Gabe) Laurent.

A gathering of family and friends will begin at 9:00 am on Saturday, July 21, at St. Francis and St. Mary Catholic Church, 9716 Cemetery Rd., Brussels, until 10:45 am. Funeral Mass 11:00 am Saturday at the church with Rev. Edward Looney officiating. Burial in the church cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to the Hunsader family at www.prokowall.com.
