He was born on August 20, 1954 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Dr. John T. and Ann M. Anderson. On May 21, 1978, he married Marian Klem in St. Anthony, Indiana. Dr. Anderson graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. He subsequently attended the Indiana University School of Medicine and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. Above all else, his family was always most important to him.

Dr. Anderson was a selfless, caring, generous, and humble person with an amazing sense of humor. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. John T. Anderson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Othmar B. Klem and Mildred M. Klem.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 24th, at Resurrection Catholic Parish, 333 Hilltop Dr., from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Parish wake service 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue on Thursday, August 25th, at Resurrection Catholic Parish from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Funeral Mass 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the church with Bishop Robert Morneau officiating. Proko-Wall Funeral Home is assisting the family. Online condolences may be expressed at www.prokowall.com.

Fond memories of a Pike High School graduate and Pike wrestler. What a kind gentle person but a STUD of a wrestler. When I think of him I smile!

At my swim class last week - someone asked me when and who did my knee replacements and would I recommend him as she needed to have her knees replaced. I sadly stated - Dr. Marc Anderson did both, first in 2005 and next one in 2012. I told her he was the perfect choice and a gentleman as an added plus, but that he had passed. I think of him often and what a huge loss it was for his family. God Bless you and know you will see him again one day!

To Marc's family,

I am Ann Anderson's financial advisor, & in return she has become my "Mom", & Marc & other family members have become my family through the many fantastic talks I have had with "Mom". I truly feel like I am part of your family & you are a part of mine. God blessed me years ago when my Father knew your father, John, when both worked at Lilly. I also worked at Lilly for 19 years before changing professions 30 years ago. Since John's retirement & subsequent passing, "Mom" & I have become special friends. I have gotten to know your whole family through "Mom", so the passing of Marc is almost like losing a brother. My wife, Inez, & I have all of you in our prayers. Thanks for allowing me (us) to become part of your "family".

So sorry for your loss. Dr Anderson replaced both my hips and I thought he was a wonderful doctor and gentle man. I have to laugh every time I think of him. I was recovering from my last hip surgery and he came into my room early in the morning, I had the covers over my head so I could sleep and he said " oh I thought for a minute there I was going to have to call Proko Wall". He will be sadly missed.

Many years ago Dr. Anderson was my surgeon for my new hip. He was a wonderful doctor and his sense of humor was amazing. One day quite a while ago I was in the elevator at St. Vincent Hospital and Dr. Anderson got on as well. I told him he had replaced my hip a long time ago and he asked how I was doing. Of course I said great. His response was " Now you can go out dancing". He will be sorely missed by many. May peace be with the family.

Dr Anderson -great doctor, a 'nurse's doctor'. I Had the pleasure of working with him for 11 years. A father's legacy is normally reserved for his children and grand children. Marc's legacy extends to the patients he 'fixed' as well. Many things he taught me, One especially, sit and listen to your patient as if you had all the time in the world. We are all better for having known him.
Family - you will need faith, family and friends to help you on the rest of the journey. The heart ache really never goes away. Find comfort to know we we will all meet again. God's blessings and comfort to you always.

I hope they can find comfort in the knowledge that there are thousands of people remaining whose lives are better because of his skills.

Marian, as I read so many heartfelt messages it is hard not to ask "why"? There is no earthy answer that can possibly satisfy that question so the only answer is to trust, trusting that somehow it is God's Will and part of His plan. I pray that a host of heavenly angels wrap around you, your children, grandchildren and all others dear to Marc and you and lift your spirits up during these days and all the days of your lifes. God bless you, cousin John

Dr. Anderson was my Orthopedic Doctor when we lived in De Pere. He was always in good humor, took time to listen and never made me feel like I had to hurry with our conversation. I remember we discussed his taste in music in the operating room -Heavy Metal I believe. One time he was doing a small procedure on one of my fingers at the office, for which I took no pain medication and he remarked when he was through that he could tell how much pain I was in by the fact one of my knees moved back and forth slowly and then faster. We both laughed and I loved that dry humor of his. He also helped evaluate players at the Combine for the Packers. He was very proud of his family and mentioned them to me at times. I am very sad to hear of his passing and wish nothing but blessings on his family.

I've known Marc for nearly 30 years, and am much better for having him as a friend. We traveled frequently together to conferences or to run a race, where he always beat me handily! Oftentimes he would bring Marian or one of his children. He was tremendous husband and father, and truly had a grasp on his priorities. As a surgeon he would tackle the most difficult cases and never lose patience. Every encounter with him left the other person feeling more encouraged. What a legacy he leaves. Michelle and I will continue to pray for Marian and the kids at this difficult time.

As a patient of Dr Anderson for almost 20 years I want to extend my condolences to his family. He performed four surgeries on my knees including partial replacements. Anderson Family,

Dr. Marc completed a knee replacement on one of my knees in Aug 2005. I was so impressed with his personality - humor - that when I needed another replacement - I knew there would not be another surgeon to perform the surgery in 2012, but him. I went back to see him for minor visits a couple of times since then. I was shocked, today when I was told that he had passed away. What a tremendous loss! Prayers to the Anderson family...........
