Patrick Olsen Obituary

Patrick B. Olsen

Green Bay - On May 1st God received a special Angel in heaven. Patrick B. Olsen passed away surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer.

Pat was born on August 2, 1957 as "the surprise twin" son of Ann (Moreaux) Olsen and the late Thomas Olsen. He was a graduate of Green Bay West class of 1975 and later obtained his bachelors degree in Occupational Safety from UW Whitewater in 1980. On July 25, 1981 he married Kay Ellingson at Trinity Lutheran Church, and they spent 37 wonderful years of marriage together raising their three children. Pat worked the past 15 years at WS Packaging Group as the Director of Risk Management known as the "safety guy".

Pat enjoyed all sports mostly playing softball and golf. He was an avid Packers and Brewers fan. Mostly Pat enjoyed spending time with his family at the cottage on Berry Lake. His favorite times were driving his pontoon with co captains Quinn and Evelyn. He also enjoyed kayaking, swimming in the lake, broasting chicken and making Booyah for family and friends.

Pat is survived by his wife Kay and their three children: Nicholas (Lauren) Olsen, Kari Olsen, and Andrew Olsen. He also leaves his beloved grandchildren: Quinn and Evelyn Olsen, along with his mother, Ann Olsen. Pat leaves his twin brother, Michael (Peggy) Olsen, along with a nephew/godson, Steven (Amy) Olsen, and a niece, Laura (Jonathon) Champeau; grand niece, Bria Olsen and grand nephew, William Olsen. Pat also leaves a sister-in-law, Lynn (Richard) Kornowski, and two brothers-in-law: Charles (Susan) Ellingson and Russell (Jodie) Ellingson along with numerous extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Thomas, and father & mother-in-law, Robert M. (Ethel) Ellingson and brother-in-law, Robert J. Ellingson.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 4th from 3 PM - 5 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church, 330 S. Broadway Street, Green Bay. A service celebrating his life will follow at 5 PM in the church.

The family would like to thank all the Doctors, nurses and caregivers at Bellin and the Green Bay Cancer Center who offered such compassion to Pat and his family during his final journey.

I still remember the conversations Pat and I had about family and how he loved his and the joy that he had seeing them grow up. He always had a screen saver of family when he did his presentation you alway saw the lates picture of family.
Still to this day when I see a goofy safety issue I want to take a picture and send it to a Pat and say what’s wrong with this picture.
Pat had a big influence on me and many of my teammates that we still say what would Pat say about this. My best wishes to his family may he always be in there hearts.
A great man.

This is a little late , just want to wish Pats love ones my condolences! I worked with Pat when he was with Aspirio , even though he was there for a short time he made an impact on the people that needed us . His easy going way and compassion left its mark! Sincerely,

My thoughts & prayers go out to the entire Olsen family. Pat was the model employee while working for us but his true passion was safety. After leaving our company I would see Pat at various safety shows and enjoyed our conversations. His passion for safety was only exceeded by the love of his family. I am truly blessed to have known and worked with such a terrific individual. He left the world a better place. May he R.I.P.

Hello , my name is David Bray , Pat and I worked together at the Community Service Center back in the early 80's ! Yes, he was The Safety guy for sure , he was very passionate about the need to be safe , Pat would schedule the Green Bay Fire department to come out and conduct safety drills and fire extinguisher training for all the staff ! . Those were very good days !! My wife Patt and I send our sincere condolences! Pat was a very good man !!

My heart goes out to the entire Olsen Ellingson clan. Pat was a close friend through high school and beyond. Along with brother Mike, we played basketball, softball and racquetball; went water skiing and shooting; had many a card game; and were simply best buds at Green Bay West. I remember cheering Pat on during his swimming career at the Green Bay YMCA and his early college years. I remember Pat being especially happy and excited as Kay entered his life. Pat filled many lives with happy memories, and those memories will last forever.

So sorry for your loss. I have worked with Pat for many years at the Phoenix Plant and across all the other locations and I want to say he is the fairest and most honest person I know. I have learned a lot about work stuff and how to be fair and truthful for that I am eternally grateful. When Pat was going to give a presentation he would alway have family on his screen saver and he was so proud of his entire family. To this day I still have the skills that he helped me hone for safe environments and his famous What's Wrong With This Picture whips I would send him on occasion even after I retired. I just know that all the fire extinguishers in heaven will be inspected.. he loved his family and life and I hope I continue to pass on his values to others as he passed them on to me. Rest in Pease Pat.

So sorry for your loss. I was the GM at the Phoenix Plant for many years and I had the pleasure to work closely with Pat. Pat is truly one of the good guys, he loved his family and was helpful to me and my team. When ever Pat was starting up a presentation he would have his screen saver on and it was family, he was so proud of you all. I still to this day have thought of what would Pat say about this. I loved his real life what's wrong with this picture and even after I retired I would send him pictures asking what's wrong in this picture. I just want to know if Pat can check out the fire extinguisher in heaven to make sure they have been inspected. God bless Pat and his family that he loved so much.
