XENIA — Shirley M. (Compton) Dill, 92, of Xenia, passed away Saturday, January 2, 2021, at her residence. She was born March 15, 1928, in Spring Valley, Ohio, the daughter of Max and Lucile Thomas Compton. She was a 1946 graduate of Spring Valley High School, a lifelong member of the Spring Valley United Methodist Church, Miami Chapter #107, O.E.S., and the Spring Valley Senior Citizens. She worked for nearly 30 years at Citizen's National Bank (Society) and after retiring, worked at the Xenia YMCA for 20 years. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara (Clyde) Schmedeke, Xenia, and Janis (Greg) Henize, Brooksville, FL, a daughter-in-law, Kay Dill, ten grandchildren, Dionne Barclay (Rod), Eric K. Dill, Jamie Poe (Robert), Travis K. Dill (Erin), Joe Scheinkman, Carl Schmedeke, Matthew Schmedeke (Jennifer), Meghan Hoppes (Corey), Tiffany Hutchins (Todd), and Justin Wallace (Jennifer), 19 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, by numerous nieces and nephews, and by many close friends, including a special friend, Pam Dill. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ralph William Dill, on October 24, 1986, two sons, Thomas Kent Dill on April 22, 2007 and Donald Keith "Donnie" Dill on October 5, 2009, two sisters, Geraldine Berry and Loraine Crawford, and by three brothers, Marvin Compton, Webster (Bud) Compton, and Donald M. Compton. Shirley will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Memorial services will be held at a later date at Spring Valley United Methodist Church, with Pastor Darlene Hensley officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Spring Valley United Methodist Church, 1 W. Walnut St., Spring Valley, OH, 45370, in her memory.
