RUFFIN SHAYNE DELEHANTY, 23, DIED SUDDENLY FROM an automobile accident on Sunday, October 30, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at Lively Stones Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Kent and Rev. Mitch Cifers officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Lively Stones Baptist Church; other times at the parents' home.We will all miss his infectious smile and beautiful blue eyes. He enjoyed being outdoors and working on cars, four wheeling and spending time with friends and family, especially his seven month-old son. He was always there when you needed him to help out in any way. He was born in Richmond, VA, October 5, 1993, but had lived in Ruffin since age five and graduated from RCHS in 2012. Shayne was preceded in death by his grandfather, Gene and Judith Wallace.He is survived by his wife, Sydney Saul Delehanty (who loved him dearly) and son, Jasper Wayne Delehanty; parents John and Leslye Delehanty; brothers Ryan Joseph Delehanty and Corey Jacob Delehanty; grandparents: James and An Delehanty, Dilman and Tracey Andrick, and Robert and Kathy Bergquist; great-grandmother, Shirley Shumaker; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many special friends.Wilkerson Funeral Home is assisting the family and condolences may be made to the family at www.wilkersonfuneral.com.
