Susan Lay Obituary
December 31, 1958 - January 30, 2023
Mrs. Susan Ann Clyde Lay, 64, of Greensboro, NC, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 30, 2023, at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
Per her request, there will be no public services.
Susan was predeceased by her parents, Wallace A. Clyde, Jr., and Barbara J. McClain Clyde, and her brother, Kevin A. Clyde from Chapel Hill, NC, and an Aunt and Uncle, Ann and Gordon Glover, of Albuquerque, NM.
Susan grew up in Chapel Hill, NC, and graduated from high school at Solebury School in PA. She graduated with her degree in nursing from Elon College in Elon, NC, and was a devoted nurse during her working years. She enjoyed playing the guitar, going to the beach, taking care of a series of golden retrievers over the years, and she always enjoyed spending time with others.
Susan is survived by her husband of 36 years, Christopher P. Lay; her sister Martha "Beth" Clyde Andersen and brother-in-law Richard C. Andersen of Cape Carteret, NC; a niece, Alexandra E. McGlohon and great nieces, Kaylee A. McAbee and Anabelle Rose Holden of Swannanoa, NC; and two cousins, Patricia A. Glover of Albuquerque, NM, and Thomas G. Glover of Anchorage, AK.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to your local animal shelter in Susan's name.
