In October of 1995, I became the pastor of Red Hill Baptist Church in Pickens, South Carolina. One of the sweetest families I have ever met is Angie and her family. In June of 1998, it was a privilege for me to perform Sherry (Angie's) sister and Angie and John's weddings two weeks apart. We have tried to keep up with Angie's journey holding out hope that God would heal her, and now God has. I know where Angie is, and I look forward to being with her in Heaven forever. God has never created a sweeter spirit than Angie. She is truly an example of perseverance. I am blessed to have had her as a childhood friend. I never recall a harsh word from her ever spoken during the time we were friends so many years ago. Angie's drive gave me hope many days. Her smile illuminated hundred of hearts even through her pictures. Angie has been and will continue to be an inspiration to us all through her determination and will. Words cannot heal the pain or emptiness, but please find some comfort in knowing how she blessed us all in her short time on earth. Her mansion is huge and her crown is heavy. Peace and comfort be with her family and friends in the days ahead.
