Mrs. Kuhne, wife of the late Rupert Eugene Kuhne Sr., died on Wednesday, January 31, 2007. Born in Adams Run, S.C., on October 7, 1911, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Fletcher and Caroline Larsen Carter. As a young girl, her family moved to Daniel Island, where she attended school in Charleston. Mrs. Kuhne was a member of St. Martin in the Fields Episcopal Church. Her family and many friends will greatly miss her wonderful stories and unique sense of humor.

Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Anne Kuhne Wilson and Bryan Wilson of Hilton Head Island, S.C.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Rupert Eugene Kuhne Jr. and Baylis Kuhne of Columbia and John Andrew Kuhne and Lucy Kuhne of Naples, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to her caretakers, Kit Turner and Marian Fields, and the staff at Still Hopes.
