Jill McLane Obituary

Jill Annette McLane

Greenville

Jill Annette McLane, 60, of Greenville passed away on the morning of October 29, 2015. She was the daughter of the late Dr. Robert C McLane and the late Lila Charles McLane of Greenville SC, whom she loved dearly.

Jill was born on May 31, 1955 in Greenville, SC. She graduated from Greenville High School, where she shared her spirit through cheerleading. She attended the University of South Carolina and later completed her degree as a Radiology Technician at Greenville Technical College. Aside from her medical career, she held many positions in pharmaceutical and advertising sales.

During her lifetime, Jill was a loving and devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many.

She will be remembered by the many area children that she taught how to swim and for her love of water and life. She had a true love for the moon and stars that she shared with others. Her many philanthropic endeavors included being a former board member of South Carolina for the Wounded Warrior project, devoted volunteer to Donate Life of SC, along with many other swimming related charities. Jill's larger-than-life spirit, quick wit and persona will not be forgotten.

She is survived by her children, Benjamin Greene (Austin) and Hannah Greene, and her love and life partner, Jim South, all of Greenville. She is also survived by her three grandchildren to whom she was "Mimi": Zoe Maxey, Leila Maxey and Lila Greene.

Memorials may be made to Donate Life South Carolina, 4200 E. North Street #22, Greenville, SC 29615 (www.donatelifesc.org).

Join us to celebrate her life and beautiful spirit at ZEN located at 924 S. Main St. Greenville, SC on November 6th at 5pm.

one of my fondest memories as a girl scout was being in the kitchen of lila mclane as she was instructing us in the proper way to measure shortening in a biscuit recipe! it was a place warmed by a sense of family. thank you, lila, for the five lovely girls that you brought into this world. your oldest was jill, whose memory we will cherish and trust that her Father will hold in His bosom.

You were a bright light that burned out far too early, a one of a kind woman - artistic, intelligent, funny, beautiful, loving, and a living mermaid! An amazing human being, a lady of the stars and of the water. A wonderful mother and grandmother. See you in the Light, my friend. Promise!

I regret that I did not have the opportunity to meet this amazing woman. She had to be special because she made my brother Jimmy so happy. His facebooks pictures always showed him smiling. God now has an amazing angel. God Bless your family and Jimmy and the girls. I know you will be greatly missed.
