Piedmont
Joseph Nibert Delafosse, 80, of 298 Irby Road, husband of Ginger Riley Delafosse, died Friday April 27, 2012 at his home.
Born in Bunkie, LA, he was a son of the late Joe and Susie Delafosse.
He was a retired Gunnery Sergeant in the U. S. Marine Corps, having served in Korea and Vietnam. He also retired from Reliance Electric Company and was Catholic and attended St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Lamar Delafosse of Piedmont, sister, Anna Bell Palmer of Tulsa OK, 5 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
He was pre-deceased by a daughter Angelette R. Delafosse Dillon.
Funeral services with military honors will be held at 2 pm Monday April 30, 2012, at Greenville Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel with Father Bart Leon officiating.
Visitation will be Monday from 1-2 pm in the Mausoleum Chapel.

Joseph was my uncle. I had only met him twice, but had spoken with him on the phone many times. My mother spoke of him often and was very proud of him.
