Shannon, Sally and Robbie: I am so sorry for your loss. I know you will miss Robert terribly. I just found out last night, when Joanna and I had supper together. We talked about you all, and how kind you always were to the Hawleys. Thank you for friendship and support. We are truly sorry for your loss, and are thinking of you.

I played rugby against Robert and Earl when I was at Clemson. Then I played with them for two great years when I lived in Greenville. He and you knew me as "LD." He was always a good friend, a great competitor and one of the best team mates. I will miss him but I will never forget him.

Shannon,I met both, Robert and Earl when I was 17 years old. I would then spend the next 12 years of my young adult life with Robert and Earl. I missed Earl when he passed and now I will miss Robert. I am still in the same line of work as I was the day Robert gave me and my Dad a job. Everyday I go to work I will remember Robert. I will forever be indebted to Robert for all that he has done for me and my family. If there is ever anything that I can do for you and your family, do not hesitate to contact me. You and Robert know me as EARL JR. My number is 864-436-7528

I was a classmate of Bob's at The Citadel and will always remember him as a good friend and fellow Kilo Co comrade. I haven't seen Bob in many years, but am sorry for his passing and wish his family the best in this time of mourning.

Bob & I were classmates, Class of 1975, The Citadel where we shared the joys & challenges together in Kilo Company. I mourn him with great memories of our time together then. He was a good & competitive athlete & fellow student whom I respected & whose sense of humor I shall miss. May he know the peace of Christ and enter into our Creator's grace with the saints in light. - Bruce Chapman, Presbyterian Univ. Minister, Florida State Univ., Tallahassee, FL
