Louis Duff Obituary

Duff, Louis D.

Louis Dunlap Duff of Greenwich, CT, died on Saturday, August 29th, 2015, surrounded by his family. Born in Kansas City, MO on May 1st, 1929 to Louis Dunlap Duff, Sr. and Cyra Sweet Duff, he graduated from the University of Kansas.
A Greenwich resident for over 45 years, he enjoyed a successful career in residential real estate, combining his interest in architecture, history and people. In 1973, he founded Duff Associates, and in 1976 received the National Association of Realtors award for the sale of Dunnellen Hall.
Louis was active in numerous community organizations including RTM (the town's governing body) and the Boys and Girls Club of Greenwich, where for many years he served on the board as well as the scholarship committee. He was also among the earliest benefactors of the Greenwich Land Trust.
Louis is survived by his wife Alice and children: Elizabeth Duff and her husband Jeffrey Turnbaugh of Hillsborough, CA; Louis (Ted) Duff III and his wife Lauren Geddes Duff, of New York City; and Alexander Duff and his wife Samantha Waterbury Duff of Lafayette, CA. He was the very proud grandfather of 5 grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, both formerly of Old Greenwich, Jane Duff Cain of Crescent City, CA, and Cyra Duff Sanborn of Newton, MA; and many other loved ones.
The family is most grateful to the outstanding professionals at Greenwich Hospital.
Services will be held at St. Barnabas Church, Greenwich, CT at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 2nd, 2015. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Greenwich Hospital or the Boys and Girls Club of Greenwich.
