I met Scott as a coach of the generals football team when we first moved to old greenwich. He coached my son and as a single mom his impacts were definitely felt throughout my household - the trade of my son and the coaches award just meant a lot. Scott was humble, kind and friendly. I never thought of all his successes until now - when I saw him just the warmth he emitted from one human being to another like on the train - the adult school bus to nyc or with Kathy out and about around town. He will live on through every life he touched so hopefully Kathy, Jack and Scooter that helps a little to know. With sympathy and love, Christina

Peace be with you, Scott! My deepest condolences to your family. I grew up around the corner from Scott and his family in the Martha Jones neighborhood of Westwood. I remember clearly when Scott moved in and was "the new kid" in the neighborhood. He seemed like a man compared to all of us little kids. I think of Scott´s quick wit, his love of sports and his strong leadership presence in every way - on the field, in the classroom and among all his many friends. Even as a young kid Scott kind of rose above all of us with his intellect, charm and sense of humor. Gone too soon. I can only imagine your loss. Please know Scott was loved and admired by all the kids he grew up with... Again, may PEACE be with you - especially with Scott.

Growing up in Westwood I came to know Scott as a larger-than-life character whose radiated a love of life that was entirely infectious. I am surprised not at all to learn of the positive impacts that he had on so many people's lives. Now that his work in this life has concluded, may he know eternal peace.
All blessings to Scott's family and friends.

As Scott´s mother-in-law I can truly sa that he was a wonderful husband and father. Why was he a great husband because he always tried to make Kathy happy. He proudly hung his favorite motto in his kitchen! When Mama aint happyAin´t Nobody Happy! Smart man as well! Thank you Scott! How do I know he was a great father? It was so simple to see. He once told me that he made the boys sleep in the same bedroom at the Cape when they were young so that they would stay close as brothers! Trust me he adored his sons and was proud of them but probably even more so because he got his wish, they are best friends forever! Thank you Scott RIP

Hi Kathy, I am so sad for you and your family. I loved Scott and think of him often even though he was my favorite boss of all time so long ago, 32 years ago. He managed with skill and Quite differently for each person he taught at EMC. I have so many great stories that you probably know but no one was better. He was so intelligent and kind. I am very sad and thinking of you Kathy. Please accept my (and many colleagues from EMC, I have talked to many) sincere condolences and prayers for your great husband.

My deepest condolences to the Harrington family, friends and loved ones. Scott was such a tremendous person. So kind, friendly and fun to be around. I have great memories of Scott back in the days at Westwood High School and beyond. I was one of the many to receive a bone-crunching hit on the the football field from Scott and yes, I saw stars. Coach Harrington had a gift for connecting with young football players. He led countless championship teams of boys with compassion, patience, proficiency, and a knack for having fun. His genuine care for every team member gave many the confidence to excel in team environments and set sights on high goals long past the Generals experience. His long-term commitment to the Generals allowed for every member of large families to be impacted by his leadership.
