Dear Ward Jr. and Lorraine,

I was shocked and greatly saddened when I learned of your loss. Although I didn't have the good fortune to know him personally, your son must have been an exceptional young man to merit all these messages of comfort from friends.

Ward was one of my favorite colleagues from UConn. He had such a creative mind but what impressed me the most was his tenacity. He didn't just seize opportunities, he created them. I will always have fond memories of our whirlwind trip to China and the laughs we had along the way. Working together on our final papers on weekends in Stamford was way more fun then it should have been. My thoughts and prayers are with Ward's family in this difficult time. Take care buddy, rest easy.

I had the pleasure of going to St. Lawrence with Ward, graduating a couple years after him. He brought me on as a brand ambassador when he launched Green Lobster and as we each went down separate career paths we continued to bounce entrepreneurial ideas off one another almost on a monthly basis. We would always get together at phish shows up and down the east coast each summer and had recently talked about the tour upcoming. His energy and enthusiasm touched everyone around him I will forever miss that. Ward, Tommy and I will be dancing it out for you at SPAC, rest in peace. - Nick

Ward had a big heart and was always full of big ideas. I got to see Ward a handful of times in Boulder and CT post college and i always came away feeling inspired and excited. He would talk at a million miles an hour about some new entrepreneurial pursuit before finally slowing down and ending with a story about his beautiful wife and daughter. I will miss you buddy. You were a caring and loyal friend. I know you are at peace and in a better place. My thoughts, prayers and deep condolences to the Meehan family.
