News Death Notice

HACKER, Gary W. Gary W. Hacker, age 61 of Hamilton, passed away on Monday July 6, 2009 at the Ft. Hamilton Hospital. He was born on February 20, 1948 in Hazard, Kentucky the son of Dewey and Pauline (Blanton) Hacker. He was a 1968 graduate of Fairfield High School. He married Deborah Retherford on February 7, 1969 in Fairfield, Ohio. Gary was employed by the International Paper Company in Springdale as a printing press operator for thirty-three years. He was presently employed as a custodian for the Fairfield City Schools. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fairfield and a member of the Fairfield Sportsman's Association. He was a former first place champion in the Ohio Trap Shooters Association Contest in 1979. Gary is survived by his wife Deborah; his parents Dewey and Pauline Hacker of Fairfield; his children Christopher Edward Hacker and his wife Amie of Liberty Township and Alissa Pauline Gardner and her husband Will of New Richmond, Ohio; one brother Larry Dean Hacker of Hamilton, Ohio; four grandchildren Ian M. Hacker, Aidan M. Hacker, Alex T. Gardner, and Kaitlyn P. Gardner. Funeral services will be held at the Weigel Funeral Home, 980 N W Washington Blvd. on Thursday July 9, 2009 at 11:00am with Pastor Danny Rollins officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. at the funeral home, Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park Condolences may be made to the family at www.weigelfuneralhome.com.

I just heard today of Gary's passing and am saddened to learn it. I worked w/ Gary for 13 years at International Paper. He was a great guy and was always a pleasure to work with. My deepest sympathies for all of his family and friends
