My father, Orville Miller, and I stopped by to see Joy last summer on August 28, 2016. Joy and I took this "selfie" together during our visit.

Sympathy to Donnie, Brenda, Janese and your families.
I was fortunate to grow up next door to the Bishop's. My mom and dad were very close friends with both Joy and Donnie. Brenda and I are the same age and it didn't take long for us to become best friends. I spent a lot of time with Joy when Brenda and I played inside their home.
I am approaching sixty years of age, and still remember Joy sipping on a bottle of Tab soda as she enjoyed watching Brenda and I eating the special treats she baked for us when we took time out from playing with Tinker Toys, creating all kinds things with the colorful wooden blocks, pet Sugar, their cat, whom Joy adored.
Joy was like a second mom to me. I was introduced me to camping, when she asked Mom if I could go along with them on a summer trip. Joy helped Brenda and I make pizza pies, hobo apple/cherry pies, and roast marshmallows over the open fire. Then, one evening, Brenda and I both had the pleasure of watching her mom and dad square dance along with all the other couples who were camping as well. The smiles on both their faces and love in Joy's and Donnie's eyes are still as vivid in my memory and heart as if it were yesterday.
Joy's life is one to be celebrated!
While Mom and I are not able to be in attendance, please know you are all in our thoughts and prayers,
Kim and Nettie Miller
