Family-Placed Obituary
COMPTON, Opal Lee Age 63, of Camden passed away Monday, August 9, 2004 at her residence. She was born September 5, 1940 in Blaze, KY, to James and Myrtle (Gibson) Watkins. Opal was raised by Lloyd & Audrey Brown in Moorehead, KY. Opal was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved quilting, fishing and flower gardening. She was united in marriage to Lonnie John Compton on February 22, 1958. She is survived by her husband, Lonnie John Compton, her children, Curtis (Marilyn) Compton of Fairfield, Ronnie (Kim) Compton of Hamilton, David (Lori) Compton of Fairfield and Vonda (John) Sparks of Hampshire, TN, a brother, Carl Peck, sisters, Betty Compton and Peggy Smith, 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Elmer Watkins, her daughter, Diane and a grandson, Jamie Sizemore. Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m., Thursday, August 12, 2004 at the Avance Funeral Home & Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield. Visitation will be Thursday at 10 a.m. until the time of service with Pastor Harmon officiating. Burial will follow at Butler County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to Hospice of Hamilton, 896 NW Washington Blvd., Hamilton, OH 45013. The family will accept condolences at www.avancefuneralhome.com
