Michael W. Compton 63, of Charlestown, IN. passed away on January 27, 2026. He was born on June 22, 1962, to Jack Compton and Katherin (Morgan) Grant.
Mike was a licensed electrician in the states of Indiana and Kentucky. He was the owner of Compton Electric.
Mike was known for his strong work ethic and independence owning and operating Compton Electric. He took great pride in his work and the relationships he built with all of his clients. He loved to go to the Hot Rod Runs and watch Sunday football games.
He never met a stranger, loved being around his family and friends. Mike had a big heart; he was one of the most generous, kind, loyal and dependable person you would want as a friend.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, Jack Compton, his mother, Katherin Grant, stepfather, Gary Grant, his brother, Jack Compton Jr. and his best friend and brother-in-law, Terry Kahafer.
Survivors include his son, Shane Compton, granddaughter, Hannah Compton, stepdaughter Katie Poore Coomer, his beloved fiancé Kim Huff, sisters, Tammy Kahafer, and Brenda Ross and husband Jim, along with several nieces and nephews. Mike had a special bond with nephews, Terry Kahafer Jr., Carter Snyder, and niece Riley Simms. Also, we can't leave his most devoted and loved campion 'Buster' his dog, who was always by his side.
The family of Michael Compton will receive friends and family on Thursday, February 5, 2026, from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown, IN., and again on Friday, February 6, 2026, from 11:00 am until the service time of 1:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Charlestown Cemetery.
