LeAnn Marie Barker, of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, passed away after complications from an accident on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at the age of 19. True to her fighting spirit, she was determined to live on her terms. LeAnn exuded authenticity. She was a free spirit, a risk taker, and even through difficult times, she was tough and faced life with a smile on her face. LeAnn was born on Friday, July 25, 2003, in Covington, Louisiana, the daughter of Mark Barker and Stephanie Points Barker. She was a 2020 graduate from Covington High School. LeAnn was a spunky, loving, generous person that touched many lives. She loved any outdoor activities, especially if it involved animals. She was the "animal whisperer." LeAnn also enjoyed drawing, swimming, and singing, even though she unfortunately inherited her dad's voice. LeAnn's gentle free spirit and genuine character are unique qualities for such a young woman to have. She spent her time on earth pouring love into those closest to her and she is dearly missed.
LeAnn is survived by her parents, brother, Patrick Milicevic, nephew, Ryan Barker, great-nephew, Reed Barker, grandfather, Robert Louis Points, step-grandfather, Carroll Despeaux, aunt, Sherry Barker, cousins, Ryan and Lance Barker, Aunt Pat and Aunt Margaret, and her beloved dog of 14 years, Rosie.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Raymond and Dorothy Barker, grandmother, Cheryl Berthelson Despeaux, and uncle, Kim Barker.
