Master Sergeant Olsen was a 20-year veteran of the US Air Force and Louisiana Air Guard, and after his military retirement joined the US Postal Service as Paw Paw Fred the Mailman, a fixture at the Ponchatoula Post Office for 33 years. Lloyd was a fan and scholar of almost every sport on earth. He was a lifetime dedicated collector of Mardi Gras memorabilia, firearms and coins, an outstanding marksman, and a sportsman who bowled a 264 tournament, won several amateur championships and was recognized as a Greater New Orleans 225 season average holder.
