Robert Wittenburg Obituary

LaPORTE, Ind. - Robert John Wittenburg, Sr., 92, formerly of Lakeside, now of LaPorte, IN, passed away on Thursday – July 10, 2025 at Miller's Health and Rehab in LaPorte, IN.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Sommerfeld Chapel – 15 N. Barton St., New Buffalo, MI.

Robert was born in New Buffalo, MI on Nov. 25, 1932 to the late Glen and Ella (Wesley) Wittenburg.

Robert was a 1950 graduate of New Buffalo High School. He served our country while in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. On Oct. 12, 1957 he married Priscilla Hampton. Robert and his brother were in partnership and owned and operated New Buffalo Concrete Products for many years.

Robert is survived by his wife – Priscilla; his four children – Susan (David) Zolvinski of LaPorte, Lisa Wittenburg of LaPorte, Robert (Kathy) Wittenburg, Jr of Sawyer and Roger Wittenburg of LaPorte; grandchildren – Stephanie Lyons, Robert W. Wittenburg, Kylee Kennedy, Mason Wittenburg, Allyson Harris and Lars Wittenburg; five great grandchildren; and a brother – Richard (Jean) Wittenburg of El Paso, TX.

Private services will be held at a later date. Robert's final resting place will be at Pine Grove Cemetery, New Buffalo, MI.
