Alexander Krajewski Obituary

Alexander H. Krajewski, 69, of 25 Hemlock Drive, Windsor, VT passed away unexpectedly at home on May 9, 2015 from surgical complications. Alex was born in Rockville, CT on January 27, 1946, the son of Herman and Louise Dreher Krajewski. He grew up in Rockville, graduated from Marianapolis Preparatory School in Thompson, CT, and earned a Bachelor Degree in Finance from Boston College and attended Graduate School at the University of Tennessee. Alex will be passionately missed by his companion, Joanne Pollio; his son and daughter-in-law Jay and Elizabeth Krajewski of Coventry, CT; and his brother and sister-in-law Hugh and Suzanne Krajewski of China, ME. Alex will also be dearly missed by Joanne's children, Mark Pollio and Christine Cooney and their families and his nephews Aaron, Levi, Sam and their families. Alex leaves many beloved friends and his former wife, Marcia Krajewski. Alex was predeceased by his younger son, Daniel Krajewski. Alex had a very outgoing personality and a successful career in office furniture sales - both of which gained him a great number of caring friends throughout New England. Alex loved to ski, bask in the sun and generally spend time outdoors. He loved his adopted state of Vermont and enjoyed learning about its history and getting to know local residents. Most of all, Alex treasured time spent with family and friends. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 14th from 4pm to 7pm at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 W. Center St., Manchester CT. A mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, May 15th at 11:00am at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 25 St. Bernard Terrace, Rockville, CT. Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery. I knew Alex from our 4 years at Marianapolis Prep school,1963-1967. We were good friends. We were roommates for our last 2 years. I visited him and his family at their home in Rockville.
We studied and played sports and got into fine colleges. I remember Alex was always keen on going to Boston College. I am from Boston and wanted to see another part of the country, so I went to Villanova,a sports rival in those days. We would kid each other about our colleges.
Alex and I got on with our lives, got married, children, jobs etc.: the treadmill of life
Somehow I met him in the early 1990s at A crew meet in Worcester.
For several years we talked about meeting and getting together, but it never got done.
I am very saddened we did not see each other again.
I think of him often and our years at school. I was shocked to hear of his passing.
Please accept my condolences and sorrow for your loss of a loving father and companion.

My wife Shannon and I were very saddened to hear about Alex's passing...Alex & Joann's home in Windsor is next door to my parents house and they all became close friends since they became part time hill people :). We'll even grant Alex honorary Vermonter status as he really seemed to love it here and fit in so well (except for that funny accent :)

Alex would always pop over when I was working on my motorcycle in dad's garage to see how I was doing and offer a helping hand if needed. Just a genuinely great guy that will most definitely be missed. Our prayers to Joann and family...you are all in our thoughts.

Very sorry to hear of our old friend Alex's passing.
We had some fun days in the early years at Gus Fischer and then at various furniture locations where we would catch up on family and friends.
Alex had that infectious laugh and terrific sense of humor. Alex was always a source of helpful information and made friends easily.
When we think of Alex we will smile and remember him as one of the good guys you meet in life.
He and his family are in our thoughts today.

Jay, Sorry for your loss and my condolences to you and your family.

Dear Joann, I am stunned to hear Alex passed away. I was his roommate for 2 years at Marianapolis Prep. We reconnected via emails a few years ago. We were trying to get together and meet either in Vt.Ct. or MA. Because of our busy schedules it never happened for which I am truly sorry. I have great fond memories of Alex when we were kids 15-18 years old. I knew his parents. Life is fragile, uncertain and random as to when we leave this earth. Please accept my deep condolences to you, his children and their families and your children and their families. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this most difficult time. After reading his obituary I know he will be missed by all his family and friends. Celebrate his life. Sincerely, Mark Curley, Rockport, MA
