Dear McClure family,
I am so devastated by your loss and the loss of a wonderful man, David. My summers at Wampanoag with you, being a part of the swim team together, are some of my fondest memories. David of course and I are the same age. Sharks across the pool, marco polo, etc. He was a phenomenal swimmer. I can still picture him diving off the starting block. Haven't seen him in so many years. I just learned of his passing today. I will keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers. I hope the memory of him and his brave soul, can offer some solace for your grief. God Bless and Much Love.

I have very nice memories of Dave. Playing sports together; sitting in detention (with Pat of course). Dave gave nicknames to all my friends - those names have stuck to this day. As mentioned, Dave was one of the good guys.
He will be greatly missed by many.

I went to Hall, but did not know David well. I knew John as my coach on the swim team all through high school. I know the pain of losing a brother and wish your family the strength to help each other through this incredibly difficult time in your lives. Please accept my condolences to the entire family.

I was o sorry to hear of Dave's passing. He was an unbelievable trooper and will be sorely missed by many.
This has conjured up memories of the Smith/Byrne household on Arnoldale Road and all of the great kids that kept coming and going through their growing up years.
And Pat, it reminded me of the many times you called me from Hall to let me know that someone didn't arrive..or missed class..or whatever!.

Dave McClure was a force to be reckoned with, and I mean that in the best possible way. Over the last several days I've heard people refer to him as a hero, an inspiration... and one of the nicest guys they ever had the pleasure of calling a friend. A few people reflected on the nick names he'd bestowed upon them over the years. Dave will always be remembered fondly, because he took the time to make others feel special.
His intelligence and wit kept people on their toes.
His kindness and generosity knew no bounds.
His laughter, infectious.
His smile warmed hearts.
And that dimple...
Dave McClure will be missed by many, but my sincerest condolences go out to the McClure family, you have lost a very special uncle, brother and son.

Dear Betsy and Family.
I remember Dave well from Hall High & West Hartford. While, I havent seen him in more than a decade, during those first few years after graduation, I ran into him regularly.
The things I remember from those days were, even when faced with adversity, he was always so positive, upbeat, had a great sense of humor and was consistantly surrounded by a number of good friends.
