Deborah Scheffer Obituary

Deborah Lee Scheffer, 36, a resident of Montauk, New York passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 9, 2018. Born March 29, 1981 in Hartford, CT. She was the daughter of Ted and Barbara Kuracz of Windsor, CT. She married Daniel R. Scheffer on June 11, 2005. They lived in Easthampton, MA until 2013 when they moved to Montauk, NY, shortly after the birth of their son Coen, to care for Daniel's grandfather Robert T. Schorr, who had lost his wife Charlotte to cancer. Deb is survived by her husband Daniel and two children, Coen and Benjamin; both of her parents; her brother Ted Kuracz, Jr., his wife Vicki, and their children Brian and Matt of Windsor Locks, CT; her brother Michael Kuracz, his wife Tina, and their children Austin and Alayna of Windsor Locks, CT; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Deb was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She was a stay at home mom that loved her child and husband enormously and was looking forward to welcoming another child into their lives. For those that had the pleasure of knowing Deb, behind her quiet demeanor she was immensely thoughtful, kind, chill, and hilarious. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Montauk Lighthouse - www.montauklighthouse.com or Friends of the Montauk Library - www.montauklibrary.org, locations near and dear to Deb and her family. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 17, 2018, at 2:00 pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 675 Scuttle Hole Rd, Watermill, NY 11976.

Thinking of you today.

Ruth Winkler

February 18, 2018

To Debbie's husband Daniel, all her family and the family of Robert Schorr:

I am so saddened to hear this terribly tragic news. I did not personally know Debbie, but spoke to her recently, about the health of her grandfather-in-law, Rob Schorr. She kindly gave me the information on how to reach Rob. Today I called Rob to wish him well and he told me this tragic news. I am so sorry for you all. May God bless you all with comfort in knowing she is in His hands, a special angel in Heaven.

Respectfully,
Ruth Winkler, Cuttingsville, Vermont
