Edward Hamilton Mann, 69, of Cromwell, beloved husband of Jillene (Youmans) Mann, passed away peacefully on Tuesday October 12, 2021 after his 11year battle with Alzheimer's. Edward was born in Middletown, Connecticut on January 7, 1952, son of the late William H. Mann and Carol Mann. From 1995 to 2010, Edward served as the State Director of Connecticut under U.S. Senator Christopher J. Dodd. Edward managed a nine-person professional staff that handled issues that directly affected virtually all of the 3.5 million residents of the State of Connecticut. Edward's dedication to his community is reflected in the numerous awards and recognitions he has received over the years. In addition to his wife of 45 years, Jillene, he is survived by daughter, Melissa Warrek and her husband Beau Warrek of Cromwell; their children, Abigail, Scarlett, and Lucas Warrek, his son, Matthew H Mann of Cromwell; his sister Barbara O'Rourke and husband Dennis O'Rourke of Cromwell, his brother William Mann and husband Dr. Timothy Huber of Provincetown MA; and his sister Kathy Mann of Middletown. Edward was a devout Catholic and a member of Saint John's Church in Cromwell. He was a lifelong New York Yankee and NY Giants fan. Edward will be remembered for his compassionate heart and dedication as a public servant. Special thanks are given to the kind, caring, and compassionate staff at The Atrium in Rocky Hill, and Hartford Hospital Hospice Unit. The Funeral Liturgy will be held Saturday (Oct. 16th) at 11 a.m. at St. John Church, 5 St. Johns Court, Cromwell. Eddie was the best big brother I could have asked for. He was always the wise man (and sometimes the wise guy) who I looked up to, and even during his difficult years, he still had so much heart and compassion. Everybody loved Eddie. That's the mark of a life well-lived. Love you, Ed. Tim and I send lots of love to Jillene, Melissa, Matthew, Beau, Abby, Scarlet and Luke, who were always there for him. He will forever be in our hearts.

So many lovely family memories of us all getting together, going on vacations, and attending life events through the years. Eddie (Mr Mann) was the most compassionate basketball coach I needed in the middle school years and ended up being my parents best friend and like an uncle to me growing up. I’ll remember that he was always full of gentle kindness & was always ready to give a high five. My deepest love, sorrow and strongest hugs to Jillene, Melis, Matt, Bo, the kids, and all the lives he touched.

I am so sorry for your loss and me not being there for him going through his battle. Del-Lor will be at the calling hours today, I am unable to get there in person. I had most of my neck fused last week and waiting for December 21 when I have a reverse total shoulder done.
Please let´s get together as soon as I am able to to celebrate his life. There was a reason that I asked him to be my best man some 37 years ago just about this time of the year. I have been talking with John Raffino in the last couple of months and Eddy always was part of the conversation.
I´m praying for him, you and your families. The only thing I can say is his battle is over and you can rest peacefully now.

I had the pleasure and honor work with Eddie during my time working for Senator Dodd from 1991-2000. Eddie was always so generous, funny, and the best colleague who kept all of us DC people grounded in the people and communities of Connecticut. He was also caring and thoughtful -- taking time to get to know me, congratulate me on life events, and support me as a friend and coworker. I was so sad to learn of his illness and passing. I know he will be missed tremendously by his family, his friends and all of us who were lucky to know him. My thoughts are with his family though but know his joy, his laugh and his love will stay with them throughout their lives. All the best, Suzanne Day
