DYER, Edwin "Jack" Edwin "Jack" Dyer, 72, of Enfield, died peacefully on Saturday, (December 23, 2006) at St. Francis Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on November 23, 1934 in Danville, PA., Jack was the son of the late Thomas F. and Eva (London) Dyer. Jack was the Vice President of East Coast Area Administration for Western Union now AT&T, for 38 years retiring in 1991. While employed with Western Union he assisted Presidents Eisenhower, Kennedy and Nixon. Jack had been a resident of Enfield since 1995 and had previously resided in Ramsey, NJ and Framingham, MA. He was a member of the Hazardville United Methodist Church and served on its Board of Trustees and chaired the Strategic Planning, Finance and Council of Ministry committees. An avid sports fan he followed the Boston Red Sox and Penn State. In his leisure time, he enjoyed gardening, landscaping and ceramic painting. A loving husband, father and grandfather, Jack is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Nancy H. (Eyer) Dyer; his children, Bonnie D. LaMondia and her husband, James of Enfield and Edwin Jack Dyer, Jr., and his wife, MaryJane of Mashpee, MA; his grandchildren, Jeffrey J. LaMondia, Patrick J. LaMondia, Meghan J. Dyer and Ethan J. Dyer. Jack was predeceased by his brother, William T. Dyer. Funeral services celebrating his life will be held on Wednesday, December 27, at 11 a.m. at the Hazardville United Methodist Church, 330 Hazard Avenue, Enfield. A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 29, at 11 a.m. in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington, PA. Jack's family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, December 26, from 4 - 7 p.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield.
