Eric PROPPER Obituary

PROPPER, Eric Eric Propper, 81, died Friday, (November 20, 2009) in Wallingford, CT. He was the beloved husband of Rosemary Cartmel Propper to whom he was married for 55 years. Born in New York City in 1928 to the late Walter and Sarah (Sacher) Propper, he was raised in East Moriches, Long Island and the Bronx, NY. He graduated from The Bronx High School of Science, Kenyon College 49, and did graduate work at Cornell University. He served as a pilot in the United States Air Force from 1951-1953, and later in the New York and Connecticut Air National Guard. In 1953, Eric moved to Wallingford after accepting a position at Revere Corporation of America where he was an aeronautical engineer and held several management positions. Upon his retirement in 1986, he established PropAir Aviation Services which he recently sold but stayed actively involved as a consultant. Eric was a lifelong aviation enthusiast! He received his pilots license at age 15, a year before his drivers license. Over the years he traveled extensively with his wife and their friends. He visited 6 continents and all 50 states in America. He was a charter member of The Farms Country Club, past president of the Wallingford Rotary Club, past president of the Wallingford Symphony Orchestra, and was a member of the Quiet Birdmen and the Lansdowne Club in London, UK. He was also very active at Saint Paulâs Episcopal Church in Wallingford. Besides his wife he is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Eric Brown Propper and Marcy Baughman Propper of Darien, CT and his daughter and son-in-law, Katharine (Katie) Propper and Scott Worrilow of Falmouth, MA. He also has four grandchildren, Eric (Trip) Propper, Mason Propper, and Austin Propper all of Darien, CT and Elizabeth Worrilow of Falmouth, MA. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 1, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Saint Paulâs Episcopal Church, Walling ford, Connecticut. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the All Saints Memorial Fund at Saint Paulâs Episcopal Church, 65 North Main Street, Wallingford, CT 06492. The B. C.
