James Fabrizio Obituary

James 'Jim' M. Fabrizio, 68, of Plainville, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2016 at the Hospital of Central CT in New Britain after a courageous battle with cancer, his memory and fighting spirit will forever be remembered by those closest to him. He was the beloved husband of Beverly (Duntz) Fabrizio for 13 years. Jim was born in Bristol on March 8, 1948, and was the son to the late Tolstoi and Mary (Giblin) Fabrizio. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving our country during the Vietnam War. He was a dedicated worker and spent most of his years working for Trumbull Restoration as a mason. Jim enjoyed fishing, golfing, taking trips to the casino, but above all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He couldn't resist telling jokes and making those around him laugh until it hurt. In addition to his wife, Beverly, Jim is survived by his daughter, Jennifer (Fabrizio) Greco and her husband, Nicholas, of Southington; his daughter, Rae Lynn Fabrizio, of Myrtle Beach, SC; his step-daughter, Chris (Lewis) Akerley, of Bristol; his sister, Jean Canter, of West Simsbury; his half-brother, Richard Hutchins, of Florida; his grandchildren, Connor Akerley, Gianna Greco, and Lorenzo Greco, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Joseph Fabrizio. A service in celebration of Jim's life will be held on Tuesday, December 27 at 11 AM at Bailey Funeral Home, 48 Broad Street, Plainville. Friends and family are welcome to gather prior to the service between 9 and 11 AM. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in his name at Free To Breath, 1 Point Place, Suite 200, Madison, WI 53719. My sincere condolences to all in Jim's family. Jim was my cousin. His mom and dad were my godparents. My dad, George (Uncle Bud), was Jim's godfather. My prayers for all of Jim's family and friends in this heartbreaking time of loss. He was a great guy who loved life and fun, and reminded me a lot of my dad in that way. I am most thankful that Rae-Lynn got a note to me to call Jim a few weeks ago. I am sorry that we did not get to see each other after many years, but it was good to speak with him again, and I hope it made him feel a bit better. His smiling face and laughter will be missed by all. - Butch

We started going "steady" in our Junior year. I think I had your letter sweater which you got for being a basketball champion.

Two years after graduation we got married and 2 years later we had a beautiful daughter, Rae-Lynnn.

Please Rest In Peace you deserve it after the suffering you went through.
