So sad to read this news.
I never knew her after high school, unfortunately, so she is still Miss Hunt to me. She was a terrific coach! Girl's sports were as serious and competitive, the workouts and training just as rigorous as the boys thanks to Miss Hunt. I think she was ahead of her time ... many women my age did not have the level of competitive sports that we did at FHS.
My sincere condolences to her family.

Jean Hunt coached me in JV and Varsity Field Hockey for four years, and a year of varsity Volleyball in 1969 when we won the state championship. She was a tough, but an impeccable coach. Even now, I can hear her calling, "He who hesitates..!"
Thank you, Jean, for your coaching.

Miss Hunt was awesome!! The same word she used for the homemade chocolate chip cookies I used to bring to our volleyball games. I think of her when someone incorrectly uses the words postponed or cancelled. I see us talking in the rain at FHS's back door facing the tennis courts. This is were she taught me the difference between a sports event being cancelled or postponed. What a powerful person she was. I know she has touched many people throughout her life!! I hope the wonderful experience we have had knowing her help ease the discomforts of her loss. She will never be forgotten!! My sincere condolences to all!

Jean was a good friend to Charlotte and me. I have fond memories of dinners with Rita and her Mother at Hills Beach, walking the beach, and rides in her boat. We had many laughs and great meals. I miss her with her sense of humor, wise advice, and cheery smile.
I lost touch with her over the years. but will never forget her trying to teach a few of us golf so we wouldn't embarrass ourselves when we tried to play at West woods. Many laughs over that fiasco.
Rest in peace Jean, I will never forget you.

To Mark and family, Though we hadn't spoken in a few years since her move from Canton, I have been thinking of Jean so much lately...always in the spring when the various plants she shared with me bloom. I so enjoyed working side by side with her in her beautiful yard. Jean was a remarkable woman of many talents and I feel very lucky to have known her. I hope you find peace during this difficult time.

RIP Miss Hunt. Passing of a legend at Farmington High School. Thank you for your positive impact on so many student athletes. All of the male student athletes were scared to death of you. And that is a compliment!

Miss Hunt was a tough, but fair teacher and coach. She instilled a work ethic in her players that hopefully, I live by to this day. I can't remember the number of laps she made us run around the field hockey field and the basketball court. In the end it was worth it. Best of all she let us see glimpses of her wry sense of humor. Thank you, Miss Hunt

Miss Hunt was an amazing field hockey coach and brought our team to become State Champs in 1980. She knew the sport and pushed us hard. I continued playing field hockey through college and later coached at the middle school level. She was an inspiration!

Miss Hunt was my high school PE teacher and field hockey coach. She taught me so much about how to be a good athlete but to always be a lady. As an adult I would run into here on a pretty regular basis and we would always have a good laugh.
