I was so sorry to hear of the loss of such a good man. Joe was a great guy with a terrific attitude and a desire to serve. I was fortunate to work with Constable Joseph Grayeb for many years in Ellington. He will surely be missed. “Blessed are the Peacemakers, for they will be called the Sons of God”.

There are no words that I can say to ease the pain you are all going through. A man gone way to soon. The memories of Joe will help you get through this. Keep them alive and talk of him often. Joe would not want you to be sad and cry for him. He is in a better place as God took him home for whatever reason. We will all miss the talks, humor and his stories that made us us laugh. This is what will keep us moving forward.
Joe you are so loved by all. Rest in peace "cupcake" and fly with the angels. Until we meet again.

Every time my brother and I would see each other, he would call out “Hey Goombadi!” and embrace me in a bear hug. Sharing a bedroom growing up, he taught me about life during many late night conversations. Through some of the most difficult times, he was the rock that I could lean on, always trying to add laughter to any situation to try and help ease the pain. No matter the time or the place, if I needed him for anything, he would drop everything and be there. My brother Mike, during a eulogy for my grandfather many years ago said “the doctors said my grandfather died from a bad heart, but nothing could be further from the truth” because of all the love he had for his family. Decades later, I think of how that same quote applied to my father and now my brother and I realize more than ever what great men the three of them were. Because of the difficult times recently with my father passing, Joe and I saw each other often. Each time when we left each other, there was always a hug and I love you. He had big heart, a great sense of humor, and was someone who truly cared about everyone. A life way to short, but so full and well lived. Hey Goombadi, I miss you and I love you.

This describes Joe perfectly. I see the twinkle in his eyes when he' d say," living the dream." He was open to ideas and listened, not just heard them.
Thank you Joe for the many conversations, and stories you shared and so much more.
I will miss you

To my Brother in Blue CC17 :
I will always remember the positive energy you brought to the workplace and the numerous times we spent together on work shifts and construction jobs. You treated everyone with decency and I admired how you were able to talk to complete strangers in a friendly and humorous way. You made me laugh on too numerous occasions to count and it was always a pleasure to be in your company. You will be missed.
