We are, of course, very sad. A few of us remember his remarkable role in providing safe, cheerful, affordable shelter to a generation of journalists. His "offspring" have all left the Courant and are spread around in very diverse and interesting jobs. Carol Giacomo, Nancy Metcalf, Garret Condon, Barbara French and I all cherish his special role in the history of Connecticut journalism.

I.m thinking of you, Jeannine and hope you'll find a small masure of comfort in knowing there are many people who loved Julien and who love you. Your friend Theresa and Cheryl Dionne

Jeannine, Diane, Alain, and Anne,
You may not even remember that I was your upstairs tenant on Zion Street in the late 1970s, but I will never forget how kind, generous, and helpful Julien was as a landlord and a person. Please accept my sympathies and my tribute to a wonderful man.

Dear Diane and family,
My heart goes out to all of you. Mr Lessard was a wonderful man. Always a pleasure to be around, always joking. I remember the time he and who I still think was your mother came into the drugstore in the Civic Center where I worked and tried to get me to believe that she was your aunt. She had to be an exact twin??
I know missing him and all that he was is difficult but he's worked hard in his life to be in a better place. My love and prayers to you all.
